Chan’s paintings offer a quiet corner for meditation, the observer looking at her paintings, can admire the beauty of nature, sky, sun, moon, clouds and stars, as well as the passing seasons. Clementine Chan transmits in her work loneliness of human existence in an accessible and effective way through the small figures who have stretched their shadows as a companion stand out in huge landscapes, balancing strength of colour and delicacy of the composition.
Chan’s works recall the story of “The Little Prince” by Antoine Saint-Exupery, a charming but lonely, like in a fairy tale that evokes a dreamy atmosphere, mysterious and complicated with a universal sense of melancholy.
